The competition awards creativity and innovation in the field of free illustrative and graphic art offering with the festival an internationally recognized platform. At the next Illustrative in April 2013 in Berlin, the winners can consider themselves as one of the best 100 international artists whose works will be exhibited there.
Works can be submitted in 3 different categories: illustration, animation and book-art/ book-illustration.
The nominees of the Young Illustrators Award will be invited to Berlin and get the opportunity to exhibit their work at the next Illustrative Festival in April 2013, the leading international festival for contemporary illustration and graphic arts. Furthermore, the winners await prizes worth 6000 Euros as well as publications, illustration agency contracts and a chance to be featured in future international exhibitions.
For the first time, in the framework of the Illustrators-in-Residence-Program of Direktorenhaus, we additionally invite the 3 first winners of the award to work for 3 month at our exhibition space 'Direktorenhaus' in Berlin and to show their artistic concept developed during that time in a special exhibition. The travel expenses for winners outside Berlin will be assumed by us.
Submissions can be handed in until the 31st of October 2012. The international jury will decide the winners for each category on the 20th of November 2012.
